Evergreen Landscaping and Lehigh Valley Cancer Institute will host their first ever mobile mammography screening event on October 28th from 9 am to 5 pm at Evergreen’s Lehigh Valley headquarters located at 1400 N. Irving Street, Allentown, PA.
“For many years Evergreen Landscaping has supported breast cancer awareness through grassroots efforts,” said Adam Pendolphia, Vice President of Evergreen Landscaping. “This event gives us an opportunity to increase awareness for this disease while also enabling women in our community to get the preventive screening they need.”
One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime, and face treatment costs that can range from $20,000 to more than $100,000. Screening mammograms can help detect breast cancer in its earliest form, helping lower the treatment costs and increasing the chance of survival.
“Preventive cancer screening has the power to change lives,” said Lori Alfonse, DO, Surgical Oncology, Lehigh Valley Cancer Institute. “We want to put that power into motion by bringing screening mammography to the workplace, schools or community organization. By bringing the service to them, we can provide a critical service for women who have many demands on their time.” To schedule an appointment during this upcoming event, call 610-402-8659.
The Mobile Mammography Coach measures about 40 feet long by almost nine feet wide and 13-and-a-half feet high and requires 60 feet of curbside parking when on location. To find out more about the mobile mammography coach visit LVHN.org/mammocoach, or call 888-402-LVHN.
